As part of my experience here on earth, I want to plant over a billion trees in my lifetime. I realised very early on with this dream that I could not do it on my own. After attending a wonderful business conference with Sammy Tether Founder of Brand Builders, in 2019 the opening speaker led with a talk about every time a transaction happened in business, how about something good happened in the world too? What wonderful ethics to weave into my own business, if only every business took this approach! As most of my business is online these days, I have already made a positive impact on reducing my carbon footprint.
Yes I do still drive an old VW Campervan, and will until she is ready to be retired and I can afford a hybrid or alternative fuel one (not yet currently released) or return to horse and carriage, long term I haven’t ruled that out!
Anyway while looking for a tree planting solution I discovered TREE SISTERS. This wonderful movement is on a mission to replant the tropical forest belt that is responsible for a lot of our air.
They also do this in a cooperative and collaborative way, by engaging local communities on the ground to become guardians of the forests and jungles.
This is what they have to say “TreeSisters exists to elicit collective responsibility for planetary restoration at the grassroots level with a focus on women and tropical reforestation. We are growing a global network of women who donate monthly to fund the acceleration of tropical reforestation as an expression of collective planetary care.”
They not only work outwardly by replating trees they also assist women with inner work and help us connect to ancient wisdom through meditations, sharing, and circles. If you are curious, do have a look at how you can get involved. Click here to find out more!
This image shows the small number of trees that I have personally supported since I discovered Tree Sisters early this year.
Now it will take me more than a lifetime to support 1 billion trees at this rate, however, I am in the process of setting up a forest supported by donations from Ruthy Doolittle. I put a little donation into that every month and I also replant an extra 40 trees, for every referral that goes on and books a session with me.
So if you share the good work I do, it has a further-reaching impact than You, Your animal, Your friend, and their animal.
From the heart,
Ruthy D xx
