How to pick the right Psychic for you! This is the second of my guest blogs, read on for more.
“We are in the middle of a spiritual revolution! There is an explosion of healers, psychics and holistic practitioners all over the world. All with their own gifts, experience and flair! Most trained in more modalities than you could shake a stick at! There is literally something for everyone but how do you know what and who is right for you?
Pick the right skill set and niche.
Every psychic, healer, therapist or medium has their own unique abilities and experience this is important to know and to find someone who is a good fit for you. It’s no good going to a random practitioner who’s modality you have an aversion to. For example; going to a reflexologist when you don’t like your feet being touched. Furthermore, find a practitioner with the specific skills and interests that are right for you. Birth trauma? See a birth healer. Your dog is distressed? Find an animal communicator. The practitioner’s skills and abilities must connect with you and your situation. You don’t have to know much about what they do or how they do it but, you must feel that you would like to experience that particular treatment or session.
It can be helpful to ask for recommendations. Anyone with amazing experience will be glad to tell you about it. However, what works for one doesn’t always work for another. You may need to try a few different modalities to find the one that really works for you. For me, dance and movement really works. One night out ecstatic dancing can give me breakthroughs akin to weeks of meditation. Know thyself! 
Connection
You will recognise the right person for you instantaneously. Your heart will buzz with excitement! It may feel like a subtle fizz or a murmur in your chest, or you literally may feel it skipping a beat. That is the language of the heart.
The head usually gets in the way and tries to convince you that they are not the right person, that you don’t have the money, that you will have to travel too far or you will find someone else. The heart always knows!
When you meet the right practitioner you will automatically feel completely at ease. This is the most conducive atmosphere for healing work. The more open you can be with your practitioner the easier it is to ‘move’ the energy. Any friction or resistance from either of you can lead to an unpleasant and ineffective session.
The relationship between the psychic healer (practitioner) and you is a symbiotic one. This means that you are calling to each other. Years ago, someone told me ‘every client teaches you something’. I have found this to be true. I am not a perfect person, my readings are pretty accurate but NO ONE is 100% – the universe just doesn’t work that way. There is always something new to learn, and true healers know this.
A little while ago, I had some clients who did nothing but waste their time. At the end of the readings (it was a group) they admitted to attempting to trick me on purpose and told me she said ‘no’ to everything just to throw me off. At the time, I was really hurt by this and it caused me to doubt myself. But, instead of jacking it all in I set new boundaries and became selective of clients I take.
The experience taught me to be very clear about what I wanted to do with my gifts and the type of people I wanted to help. Since then, I have only called clients to me who are awakened and dedicated to their own growth and healing which are just the sorts of Ladies I love working with.
Experience and Fees
I get a few raised eyebrows sometimes when I tell people how much I charge an hour. Mainly from my family who do not really understand exactly what I do. They just can’t believe that some would pay me for my ‘gifts’ at all.
In the grand scheme of things I am very reasonable. When you are investing in yourself, it is always money well spent! So what exactly are you paying for when you see a psychic or a healer?
Psychics and Healers train their whole lives to give readings and healings, and the training never stops! Good practitioners are always investing in learning and developing, and dedicated to their craft. It’s not just a job – it’s devotion! There are a number of one-off and ongoing costs associated with running a business and time spent connecting with people to gain enquiries in the first place is also factored into costs.
It is no different from having a skilled tradesman like a plumber or electrician, but instead of fixing up your house, you are fixing up yourself – your most valuable asset and resource!
Like tradesmen, experience counts for a lot. Usually, the more experienced a person is at their skill, the more adept they are and the more they charge.
Yes, you can always find cheaper elsewhere. And, no, I am not saying that ‘cheaper’ practitioners are ‘worse’, however when you find someone who is charging £100-200 a session, there is a reason for that. And I tell you, those people always have a long waiting list.
On the other hand, spending a lot does not guarantee an excellent session. The symbiotic exchange must be there. The energy must flow!
Ultimately, it is up to you to determine the value for your session – you get out what you put in. Those clients who tricked me a while back, the joke is on them. They missed a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow – and they paid for the privilege! The more open and honest you are with your practitioner the better the session will be for both of you.
